How to place a test order
Articles on: Orders
Every smart store owner should always test their order process before their ready to launch. We highly recommend this before you send any traffic to your store. You wouldn't want to miss out on sales because something is misconfigured. Follow the instructions below to place a test order.
Make sure you've enabled a payment method for your store.
Visit your store's website URL in a new tab.
Add any product to your cart and proceed to checkout.
Checkout using any payment method available. (If you have multiple payment methods enabled, we recommend testing each payment method that is active). You should use your real information and email address. This will give you a chance to see the entire ordering process, along with any email messages you may have configured.
If you'd like to save money during your test transaction, we recommend that you create a discount code or automatic sale to lower the total amount due at time of purchase. You can create these discounts by going to > Products > Sales and Coupons. Remember, any money you spend on your own store, will eventually be deposited back into your own bank account since you're buying from yourself.
At this time, Launch Cart doesn't allow a payment method to be switched to test-mode. This means, you'll need to process a real live order. This is recommended over a test-mode transaction anyways.
After you've completed the checkout process, you're done. If it was a successful purchase, then your test was successful.
Optional: If you want to cancel the order and refund the order, you can do so by going to > Orders, clicking on the order, and processing a refund and cancellation.
If you're placing a test order and buying a product that is fulfilled by a 3rd-party app such as Printful or Printify (or others), then you'll also need to cancel this order inside your 3rd-party app website so you don't get charged for this order from the 3rd-party app. For example: If you're selling products via Printful.com, then you'll need to login to https://www.Printful.com and lookup your test order and cancel the order immediately before it gets processed. Cancelling or refunding a order in Launch Cart doesn't cancel the order in a 3rd-party app.
